Direction : Each of the questions below consists of a question and two statements numbered I and II given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statement are sufficient to answer the question. Read both the statements and give answer
Question 1 : What is the monthly salary of Prashant ?
Answer : (e) : From both I and II, we find that :
Solution : Prashant's salary = 115% of (90% of Rs 2500) = Rs 2587.50.
Question 2 : A, B, C, D and E play a game of cards. How many cards does B have ?
Solution : (e) From both I and II, we find that :
As per the question :
B - 3 = E....(1)
B + 3 = D...(2)
A + B = D + E + 10 ...(3)
B = C + 2...(4)
A + B + C + D + E = 133 ...(5)
From 1 and 2 , B − E = D − B
2B = D + E ..(6)
From 3 and 6 , A + B = 2B + 10
B = A − 10
A = B + 10...(7)
From 5 , 6 , 7 and 4 , B + 10 + B + B − 2 + 2B = 133
∴ B = 25
